Join us in advocating for and enhancing the South Whatcom Library! Your membership helps fund vital programs, raise awareness of the library’s impact, and ensure that everyone in our community has access to resources.
Membership Benefits
As a Friend of the South Whatcom Library, you’ll be part of a dedicated group that actively supports literacy, lifelong learning, and community connection. Members receive updates on the latest FoSWL activities, events, and initiatives—plus, the satisfaction of knowing they’re making a lasting difference.
Membership Information
When you become a Library Friend (member), you are committing to an annual donation to the Friends of the Library in the form of membership dues. These funds go directly toward supporting our library with materials and supplies for events.
Our board is made up of all community volunteers and so no membership dues go toward salaries or personnel costs.
As a paid Friends member, you will receive our monthly newsletter which gives you insight into Friends events, volunteer opportunities, board information, voting privileges for our new annual board elections, and more!

Note: In addition to Individual and Family Memberships, we have two additional membership levels. Contributing members have contributed an additional donation between $26-$99 for the year. Elite members have provided additional donations beyond $100 for the year. These generous supporters have the option of being recognized on our Sponsor page. Additionally, Elite Members may be recognized in the FoSWL Annual Report.
If you would like to submit membership dues with an amount that is not shown above, please click on the button below and then select “Individual Membership” when filling out the form. Then use the “Donate” button at the top of the page to add any additional dues you would like to contribute for the calendar year.
Joining the Friends of the South Whatcom Library is easy! Choose the option that works best for you:
Sign up online: Click the "Become a Member Today" button below to fill out our online membership form and submit your dues securely using the payment button. Payments are submitted via PayPal but you may use a credit or debit card safely.
Fill out the membership form at the library: Membership application forms are always available at the South Whatcom library. You can fill out the form and leave a check or cash for your dues, or pay via PayPal on your phone.
Join by mail: Visit the South Whatcom Library and pick up our membership form. You can also download and print our membership form. Then, mail your completed form along with a check to:
